President Papon Dismisses Allegations of Coach Hathurusinghe's Misconduct
President Nazmul Hasan Papon has categorically dismissed reports alleging that Bangladesh head coach Hathurusinghe raised his hand multiple times on cricketer Nasum Ahmed. Some channels had published this news, prompting inquiries when posed to Hathurusingha, who outrightly denied the matter. Papon, speaking to the media after Bangladesh's significant 4-wicket loss in the second Test at Mirpur Shere Bangla Stadium, labeled the incident as untrue.

During the post-match prize distribution, Papon commented on the alleged hand-raising incident, stating, "I don't know. I have never heard of such a thing. Except when it's aired on TV, and here's the first thing I've said to anyone who's contacted me here's what I've told the coach is something like that... I don't know. So then I have nothing to say. This thing I know is false. There is nothing more to say about that thing."

Following Bangladesh's disappointing performance in the World Cup, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) formed an inquiry committee to investigate the reasons behind the team's failure. Nasum Ahmed was summoned before the committee, which is chaired by Enayet Hossain Siraj and includes BCB directors Akram Khan and Mahbub Anam. However, details of Nasum's statement to the committee remain undisclosed.
When questioned about the timeline for the inquiry committee's findings, President Papon replied, "I still know this, but it will take time. It is a lengthy procedure, and we will be consulting with many people."
