Rajibuddin confirmed to RisingBD that Roman's retirement was due to personal reasons. He said, "He has written to the Roman Federation about his decision to retire. We received that letter. Personal reasons are shown in the letter.
Roman Sana is considered the best archer in Bangladesh at present. He also has a bronze medal in the world competition of this sport. Roman won this medal in the 2019 World Archery Championship. He also qualified directly for the Olympics as the first athlete from Bangladesh.
In the 2021 Archery World Cup, Roman partnered Dia Siddique in the recurve mixed doubles final. However, after losing to the pair from the Netherlands, they have to be happy with the silver medal. Roman also led the country to a medal in the team event of recurve at the Hangzhou Asian Games last September.
In 2019, Roman won the gold in the Asian Ranking Archery Championship. The archer won the individual singles medal after defeating Chinese opponent Xi Zhenqi 7-3 in Clark City, Philippines. Apart from this, he also won gold in the 'recurve mixed team' event of the Asia Cup World Ranking Archery Championship in Phuket, Thailand last year.
