There is no end to the common people's interest in the income and expenditure of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). BCB owns Tk 900 crores - there has been no shortage of laughter on social media. However, BCB chief Nazmul Hasan Papon said that BCB's profit has decreased recently.
BCB's Annual General Meeting (AGM) for this year was held on Sunday (March 31) at a five-star hotel in the capital. In a press conference there, Nazmul Hasan said, 'The total budget of BCB in the financial year 2023-24 is Tk 446 crore, the expenditure is Tk 407 crore. This includes BPL. Total surplus is 39 crore taka. Our income has not increased. However, the cost has gone up a lot. I am now thinking about what I will do in the coming days.
Apart from this, the meeting decided to launch BCB TV. Currently two channels are showing Bangladesh games. It is not possible to show all series if multiple series are running simultaneously. As a result, the board is thinking of starting BCB TV.
In this context, the BCB chief said, "Usually two TVs show our games in Bangladesh. Now we will show all the games they don't show on our own TV. Now along with the Test, the women's series and Premier League are going on. These two games are not showing. We will try to show the main team games as well as the rest of the games. We want to show domestic cricket on TV. If it is shown on TV then the quality of domestic cricket will increase. Any problem with umpiring will be caught.
