India's Hindu Mahasabha threatens Bangladesh match
India's Hindu nationalist political party, the Hindu Mahasabha, has threatened not to hold the Bangladesh-India match in Kanpur in protest against allegations of violence against Hindus. Nazmul Hossain Shanto-Liton Dasra will play two Tests and three T20Is on India tour in September-October.
The first Test between Bangladesh and India will start from September 19 in Chennai. The second Test will start from September 27 in Kanpur. According to a source close to the BCCI, the Indian media ABP Live reported that the Hindu Mahasabha has threatened not to allow the second Test in Kanpur. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is also worried about such threats. While no official decision has been heard yet, there are rumors that the venue may change. In that case, BCCI is thinking of shifting the second Test from Kanpur to Indore in Madhya Pradesh.
Earlier, the threat of Hindu Mahasabha came in the T20 match. The first T20 of the Bangladesh-India series was supposed to be played in Dharamsala. The Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association requested that the match be postponed for renovation of the stadium's dressing room. BCCI shifted the match from Dharamshala to Gwalior on their request.
After the fall of the Awami League government, the Indian Hindu organization threatened to attack the houses or temples of the Hindu community in Bangladesh. As a result, the vice-president of the Hindu Mahasabha said that he would oppose the first T20 to be held in Gwalior on October 6. Joyveer Bhardwaj.
Bharadwaj told the Indian news agency PTI on August 24, 'Hindus are being massacred in Bangladesh, temples are being destroyed. Hence the Hindu Mahasabha decided to oppose the India-Bangladesh cricket match at Gwalior. The match should be canceled to maintain peace because otherwise there will be unrest in the country.''
