Bangladesh U-19 Team Faces Setback with Fifth Consecutive Defeat in India Tournament
The youth team of Bangladesh faced their fifth consecutive defeat during their visit to India for a four-team one-day tournament in preparation for the Asia Cup. Unfortunately, the trip did not go as planned, and they were eliminated from the tournament after suffering five consecutive losses. In their last match against England Youth, the red-green jersey holders lost by 68 runs. Out of the six matches played in the tournament, they managed to secure only one victory. Bangladesh is now set to compete against England in the third-place match scheduled for November 27.
During the group stage, England posted a total of 265 runs with Luke Benkenstein's fifty being a significant contribution. Bangladesh, batting second in India's Moolapadu, fell short and wrapped up their innings for 197 runs in 43.1 overs, with about 7 overs remaining.
Despite England's good start after losing the toss, their opening four batsmen failed to capitalize, and the only fifty in the innings came from Luke Benkenstein, who scored 79 runs off 78 balls with 11 fours and 1 six.
