Kazi Salahuddin, President of the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF), is currently undergoing open-heart surgery following a heart attack. The decision for surgery was made due to multiple blockages in his heart.
After more than ten days of treatment for various health issues, including blood pressure and cough, Salahuddin was transferred to the operation theater this morning. The medical team successfully brought his blood pressure, cough, and other bodily concerns under control during the initial treatment phase.
At approximately 7:30 AM, preparations for the operation were initiated, and Salahuddin was taken to the operation theater. According to information provided by the federation and the family, the official procedure is scheduled to commence around nine o'clock after administering anesthesia. The surgery is expected to take several hours to complete.
Salahuddin's health concerns surfaced on December 16 when he attended an event at the BFF Office Building to unveil the new nameplate of the Shadhin Bangla Football Team. Upon returning home from the Federation, he was hospitalized due to illness, where heart blockages were detected in various tests. Bypass surgery was deemed necessary, but complications such as cough and other health issues caused delays in the scheduled operation.
Today marks the culmination of the efforts to address Kazi Salahuddin's health condition through surgery. Both the federation and Salahuddin's family earnestly request the prayers and support of the public for the 70-year-old football legend during this challenging time.
