Four years after a heartbreaking loss to India, the Bangladesh U-19 team has a chance to rewrite history and clinch the Asia Cup title. From afar in New Zealand, Mushfiqur Rahim and Nazmul Hossain Shantara extended their congratulations to the victorious Bangladesh youth team.
In a thrilling semi-final clash at the ICC Academy's second ground in Dubai, the Bangladesh U-19 squad triumphed over India by 4 wickets with 43 balls to spare. Their flawless record of four wins in the tournament positions them favorably to secure their first-ever Asia Cup title. The U-19 team is set to face the United Arab Emirates in the final at the Dubai International Stadium tomorrow.
While the youth team is on the brink of success, the Bangladesh national team is currently engaged in New Zealand for a three-match ODI and T20 series.
In a video message released by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) today, senior cricketers expressed their well-wishes and encouragement for the young talents. Mushfiqur Rahim conveyed, "Hopefully, you will win in the final. We deserve to win the match. Best wishes to you all."
Heading the national team in New Zealand, Nazmul Hossain Shantara congratulated the youth team, acknowledging their commendable performance. Shantara stated, "Congratulations to everyone. You all played well. Everyone on the coaching staff has worked hard. The Bangladesh team is in a very good position. You have played some great cricket in the last few months. All the best to you guys for the finals," while Liton Das added, "Good luck for the finals, guys."
