Hasaranga banned for two T20Is
Sri Lanka will not have Wanindu Hasaranga in the first two matches of the T20 series against Bangladesh. He was banned for two matches by the ICC as punishment for publicly criticizing the umpire's decision. As a result, this leg-spinning all-rounder will not be able to play the first two T20s in the Bangladesh tour.
Two demerit points were already added to Hasaranga's name for breaking the ICC rules. He violated Article 2.13 of the ICC Code of Conduct by criticizing the umpire's decision in the third and final T20 series in Afghanistan. Three more demerit points are added to it. And that's why he got a two match ban.
According to ICC rules, if a cricketer gets five demerits within 24 months, he is given two suspension points as punishment. That is, he is banned for one Test or two ODIs or two T20Is. The suspended cricketer cannot play in the team's previous match in the three editions.
Sri Lanka will visit Bangladesh next month. Where they will play three T20s and ODIs and two Tests each. Hasaranga was supposed to play with the T20 series. From there, the Lankan captain was cut in two matches (March 4 and 6).
