In the wake of the Mirpur Test against New Zealand, Mehdi Hasan Miraj, Naeem Hasan, and Shariful Islam have seen positive shifts in their bowling rankings. Among them, pacer Shariful experienced the most significant surge, advancing nine positions.
Despite the second Test loss to New Zealand by 4 wickets, Shariful's noteworthy performance included two wickets in the first innings and one in the second. The 22-year-old left-arm pacer now holds the 58th spot in the ICC rankings, as per the weekly update released on Wednesday.
Naeem Hasan, the 23-year-old off-spinner, climbed five spots after taking two wickets in the first innings, securing the 44th position. Meanwhile, Mehdi Hasan Miraj, an off-spinning all-rounder, moved up two places to 21st after claiming three wickets in each inning in Mirpur.
Maintaining his position, left-arm spinner Taijul Islam remains at number 14, having taken five wickets in the match. New Zealand's left-arm spinner, Ajaz Patel, who claimed 8 wickets, including 6 in the second innings, jumped seven places to 33rd.
In the batting rankings, Glenn Phillips of New Zealand has made a significant leap, climbing 59 places from 100th to 55th. The 27-year-old all-rounder showcased his prowess with a formidable innings of 87 runs in the first innings at Mirpur. Phillips was also instrumental in the run chase, earning the Man of the Match title for his valuable 40 runs, contributing to an unbroken partnership of 70 runs for the seventh wicket with Mitchell Santner.
