Two Bangladeshi cricketers find themselves on the shortlist for the ICC's best of the month, a testament to the outstanding performances of the Bangladesh women's cricket team in recent months. The team has been on a winning streak, delivering consistent and impressive performances in both the ODI and T20 formats.
In the October-November series against the visiting Pakistan women's cricket team, Bangladesh, captained by Sultana Jyoti, showcased their prowess. Initially, Bangladesh triumphed 2-1 in the three-match T20 series held in October. Subsequently, in the three-match ODI series from November 4 to November 10, the Bangladesh women's cricket team secured a 2-1 victory over Pakistan.
Nahida Akhtar and Farzana Haque Pinki, instrumental in Bangladesh's ODI series win, have earned nominations as the best cricketers for the month of November. Pinky, named the Man of the Match in the decisive third ODI, contributed significantly to Bangladesh's 7-wicket victory by scoring 62 runs off 113 balls. Across three ODIs in November, Pinky amassed 110 runs with an impressive average of 36.67 and a strike rate of 46.63—the second-highest run tally in ODIs for the month. Pakistani women cricketer Sidra Amin claimed the top spot with 113 runs.
Meanwhile, Nahida emerged as the series' best performer, securing the highest wicket count in ODIs for November with a total of 7 wickets. In the last ODI, Nahida took 3 wickets for 26 runs. Additionally, Pakistani cricketer Sadia Iqbal, who took the second-highest 6 wickets in ODIs for November, joins Nahida and Pinky on the list of nominees. In the first ODI against Bangladesh, Sadia played a crucial role by taking 4 wickets for 13 runs in 9 overs, leading to Bangladesh being all out for 81 runs—the team's lowest score against Pakistan in ODI history.
