Bangladesh U-19 Team's Strategic Prep: BCL Participation and Youth World Cup Camp
The Bangladesh U-19 cricket team, fresh from their victory in the Asia Cup, is gearing up for the upcoming Youth World Cup with a strategic plan set by the cricket board. The objective is to ensure the players remain actively engaged in the game.
As part of this plan, Mahfuzur Rahman Rabbi and Ashikur Rahman Shiblis will participate in the one-day edition of the ongoing Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL), as confirmed by the Game Development Department of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). The BCL serves as a platform to maintain the cricketers' rhythm ahead of the Youth World Cup. The Youth World Cup camp is scheduled to commence on January 1, immediately following the conclusion of the BCL.
The Game Development Department emphasized the importance of keeping the players in rhythm, considering the proximity of the World Cup. The decision involves the participation of selected players in the ODI version of BCL, followed by the initiation of the Youth World Cup camp on January 1.
However, it's worth noting that the fast bowlers have been given a rest and will not be part of the BCL team. The ODI edition of BCL is set to kick off on December 24 in Cox's Bazar, with the final scheduled for December 30 in Mirpur.
Just one day after the culmination of the BCL, the Youth World Cup camp will kick off. Following approximately a week of intensive training, the team will travel to South Africa, where a conditioning camp will be conducted until the commencement of the Youth World Cup on the 19th.
